How to: Condense XACCLOCK Table #
In IBM Controller, the XACCLOCK table records company lock activity each period. As this table grows over time, it can affect the efficiency of the database, particularly noticeable in larger databases.
To address this, IBM Controller version 11.1.11 introduces a new feature: Condense XACCLOCK Table.
What does it do? #
The function reduces the volume of records stored in the XACCLOCK table without impacting the integrity of your locked data. This means you retain all the essential lock information but avoid the performance issues caused by unnecessary build-up.
Where to find it #
You’ll find this feature under the Optimize Database menu in Controller Classic.
How it works #
When you run Condense XACCLOCK Table, the system condenses records for all periods up to and including the period you select. After completion, your database is leaner and more efficient, with no detrimental effect on locked data.
