Planning Analytics (formerly TM1) – Available On-Premise from 14th December 2016
Planning Analytics is the latest planning, budgeting and forecasting software from IBM. It is built on the IBM Cognos TM1 platform and is the next major release of TM1 for in-cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments.
What’s New?
The new release offers the same great TM1 experience but additionally offers improved self-service, dashboarding and predictive capabilities. It provides a simplified experience as it moves towards having two main interfaces for all planning, modelling, reporting and analysis needs. This includes one web-based and one Excel-based, whilst still being compatible with all previous interfaces until you are ready to change.
The two main interfaces include:
Planning Analytics Workspace: a new web-based tool for planning, reporting and analysis as well as modelling. It has greater dashboarding capabilities with new visualisations to enrich analysis. Self-service is both faster and easier as it can build dashboards and planning forms by using natural language to query what information to display. Planning Analytics Workspace can uncover predictive insights through its integration with IBM Watson Analytics, allowing for better strategic decision making.
Planning Analytics for Excel (formerly CAFÉ): an Excel interface for planning, reporting and analysis. CAFÉ has previously been available in prior releases but now benefits from additional functionality that aligns with TM1 Perspectives. Moving from TM1 Perspectives to Planning Analytics for Excel means moving to a faster platform with an improved report building experience. Take a look at our training course to find out more.
