Why I’ve Changed My Mind About IBM Controller on IBM Cloud
By Sarah Dow
I’ll admit, I was skeptical when IBM Controller on IBM Cloud first launched. But I needn’t have been.
Once implemented, Controller on IBM Cloud allows customers to focus on what really matters – the Controller application itself, without the worry of environment issues. Over the years, I’ve seen the difference it makes. Here are just a few of the benefits I’ve experienced first-hand with customers who’ve made the move:
-
Fully maintained: No more worrying about backups, bugs, or security fixes.
-
Planned maintenance: IBM schedules environment maintenance with notice, ensuring it never interferes with your reporting deadlines.
-
Always up to date: You’ll benefit from the latest Controller upgrades and functionality in Controller Web. Since IBM handles the upgrade, you only need to test and familiarise yourself with any new features. There are no compatibility issues to deal with.
-
Flexible databases: Alongside your Production database, you can have up to three additional databases for training, testing, development, or even archiving. Backing up Production and restoring it to another database is self-service, so you don’t need to wait on support.
-
Seamless integration: If you’re using Planning Analytics on IBM Cloud, you can take advantage of the integrated link via Controller Web.
-
Single sign-on: With Federated Login, accessing Controller becomes even simpler and more secure.
If you’re still on the fence, I honestly don’t know what you’re waiting for!
